Rodeo Houston

Last Thursday, we went to the rodeo here in Houston. I am in love with rodeos! And Mitch in a cowboy hat. Growing up, we went to our family ranch in Wyoming a lot, so I love stuff like this.  It was so hard to decide which night to go on because there were so many good performers like Tim Mcgraw, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, the Zac Brown Band, and more. We decided to go the night that Rascal Flatts was playing. (Notice how Mitch is trying to look super tough in front of the kid's pony ride. ha ha)

Before the rodeo and concert, we went to see the livestock show. They had a ton of animals in one place and you could smell it a mile away. But it was fun to see all the different animals, especially the cute baby ones.

This is a Texas Longhorn and it was huge! Pretty cool.

Bull riding was my definitely my favorite event in the rodeo. I love when the bulls are really crazy! Another cool event that I had never seen was the Chariot racing.

They asked Mitch to be a judge of a few of the events after they saw his legit cowboy hat. He judged mostly on style. He was only a little biased toward the cowboys from Utah. If you look close at his chin, you can see a little red mark/bruise from when he got kicked in the face at his last basketball game. So tough.

The concert was so good! Rascal Flatts was way entertaining and so talented. I am also in love with country music.

We walked around the carnival after the concert and it was packed! The whole place smelled like fried everything. They had fried cheese, fried pickles, fried oreos, fried snickers, fried m&m's, fried twinkies; you could probably fry your whole dinner if you took it to them.

We just had to try the fried snickers after hearing so much about it. And yes I did straighten my hair, it just looks wavy because it's Houston and I still haven't figured out how to do my hair here. I just can't wait till the real humidity gets here.

The fried snickers was super yummy. I'm sure it wasn't too good for ya, but it's a once in a lifetime experience. (Maybe three or four times in your life experience.)

  1. Cute boots Kelsie! I'm so glad you guys had a good time at the Rodeo. It's funny you mentioned your hair being wavy because I also can't figure out how to get my hair to look good in the humidity. It's just something we've never had to deal with coming from Utah. haha Hopefully we'll find a solution...
